- 2-inch: Kids table or tabletop air hockey
- 2.5-inch: small table or tabletop air hockey
- 3-inch: hybrid - medium table
- 3.25-inch: Standard/full-size
- 3.5-inch: official puck size for tournament
They can also come in circles and other shapes such as triangle, hexagon, octagon, or square.
Pucks are available in many colours but standard USAA-approved and AHPA-approved pucks are yellow, red and green.

Air Hockey Mallets
Air hockey mallets, also called pushers, strikers or handles or goalies are what you need to hold in your hand to push the puck while playing a game of air hockey.
New air hockey tables usually come with a set of mallets (and pucks) so you can start playing right away. However, some of the mallets may not be of the highest quality. They offer a decent gaming experience, but they can hold you back from enjoying your new table if they are the wrong type, weight, or not as smooth as you wished.
Worst, they can be cheaply made and deteriorate or break, leaving you with no other option than to buy a new set.

You may not notice it right away, but as time go by, your air hockey is going to collect dust and other debris.
Over time, this will cause to clog the air duct inside your air hockey table, potentially creating dead zones, not to mention you will have a layer of dust on your air hockey table.
